The Region Västra Götaland finances Cirkus Unik for a 3 year period (2020-22) with Cultural Strategic Support, which aims to widen participation for children and young people in an intercultural contribution such as new circus.
Their motivation: “Cirkus Unik is a well-established performer in contemporary circus in Gothenburg and Västra Götaland, but a new performer in the cultural committee. The development of the coming years will help increase awareness and dissemination of contemporary circus as an art form and thus promote innovation, and reach more children and young people. This is fully in line with both the cultural strategy for Västra Götaland 2020-2023 and the strategy for physical activity in children and young people. ”
They have also previously supported Cirkus Unik in various ways; In 2019 we were supported by the Västra Götalandsregionen and the City of Gothenburg Cultural Administration to be able to go on tour with the show Dare 2 Be! during the fall of 2019 and in 2020.
