CIRCUS SCHOOL
We can teach you to dare more than you think you would!
At Cirkus Unik’s Circus School children between seven and twelve years get to learn many different circus techniques. We focus on children's self-esteem, joy and cooperation.
Cirkus Unik trains more than 250 children in seven different neighborhoods in Gothenburg. Here everyone can meet; with their similarities and differences.
APPLICATION
SELF-ESTEEM AND TEAM COLLABORATION
We get the kids to dare more than they thought they would, both individually and in groups. Self-esteem increases when you know that you are good as you are. We show that it is good with differences and that each one has his own time to develop.
With us all children train on their own terms, regardless of their background and previous experience.
Contemporary circus is a mixture of culture and sport - and we take the best from both; We offer creativity, imagination and an uncompetitive exercise.
There is a place for everyone in the circus!
SAFE TRAINING
Circus training is versatile and playful. With us the children develop coordination, strength and agility - and have fun while doing it.
When we train with the kids we put safety first. This applies to our equipment and our personal presence, but also that all children will learn proper techniques from the beginning.
Circus Techniques:
- Aerial acrobatics: rope, fabric, trapeze and ring.
- Acrobatics: pyramids, exercises on the mattress and trampoline.
- Juggling: balls, diabolo, rings, pins, poi and lasso.

ENTIRE GOTHENBURG!
Our circus schools are found in seven neighborhoods: Angered, Bergsjön, Biskopsgården, Frölunda, Hisings Backa , Lundby, Majorna, och Tynnered.
Cirkus Unik wants to help make Gothenburg a bit more egalitarian. That’s why we are trying to find the children with limited opportunities - children who for various reasons do not have access to all social networks or do not yet speak Swedish- for example, children who recently arrived from other countries.
Right now, we welcome applications for our circus schools in Majorna and in Lundby

CIRCUS RELAY
Cirkusstafetten is Cirkus Unik's new exciting project together with Skapande Skola Västra Göteborg during school hours in cooperation with sports teachers. The project is perceived in three different pillars:
- A class in grade 4 in five selected schools will have the opportunity to learn circus techniques.
- The process will be filmed and the students together with the filmmaker will create a film that will be shown as inspiration in the next school which explains the name Circus Relay.
- All sports teachers in the area will be invited to attend a continuing education where Circus Unik will share different theoretical and practical tools to stimulate group collaboration without competition.
At the end of the school year, the films will be compiled and displayed at a joint closing session.

CIRCUS FOR CHILDREN WITH VARIABLE FUNCTIONALITY BEHAVIOUR
All children are unique !! During the spring of 2017, Cirkus Unik had the opportunity to work with children with functional variations such as concentration and language difficulties in a Gothenburg school. We have seen the children make huge progress in just a few lessons and both school management and parents have asked for renewed cooperation. We are pleased to be able to continue in cooperation with Kulturskolan also during the course of HT 2017.
These children are very difficult to attend regular sports education. Complicated rules and long reviews are difficult for them and not rarely leads to the feeling of exclusion, conflict, misunderstanding and communication problems.
Nycirkus has for them meant a new and more free exercise where each child has found its place where they made great progress with increased self-esteem and better group collaboration as a result. Nycirkus is a universal language that everyone understands and can "speak", which is a great relief for children with language difficulties.
In the circus you do not have to compete with others; Each child develops at its own pace with joy and with itself as the only measure. All children are unique !!
